About the Roots of Janusz Korczak Collection
The Roots of Janusz Korczak Collection contains sources related to the family of the famous educator. They constitute a sketch for the portrait of the Polish-Jewish intelligentsia, emerging in the late 19th century, and depict the intellectual, ideological, and family roots of Korczak’s work.
The collection presents a selection of writings by Korczak’s father and uncle as well as rich visual sources, including scanned photographs and vital records (never previously published), which document the destinies of the Goldszmit family. The collection also contains graphic materials especially prepared for the project, such as the Korczak genealogical tree and interactive maps.
