Finally, the smuggling went directly from the houses adjacent by their walls to the properties bordering the ghetto. Famous was Koźla Street, adjacent to the ghetto. What kind of technical equipment was installed here, no one dreamed of before. For example, I’ll just cite the ingenious installation of a roof-to-ground gutter, in which instead of rainwater, milk flowed into the base bubbles. A movable iron window grille, embedded in the door frame in such a disguised manner that it was difficult to know it was movable. The smuggling shipments given to the Polish side were easily released to the ghetto through this window. In some houses, tunnels were dug through which commerce took place. (p. 49)
