The Jewish Council launched at Tłomacka Street 4 Housing Brokerage Office (ed. Czerwiński). There, offers and demands for vacant rooms were reported. The adjacent summer terrace of the corner cafe, made of green-painted wooden slats on which wild vines climbed, was peppered with a multitude of cards pinned up by those seeking and wanting to rent rooms. This terrace was a proper intermediary accommodation. This free housing brokerage office was the nucleus of the future Housing Bureau. (pp. 46-47)
